Run the Gulf Coast Half Marathon!

The 5th annual Gulf Coast Half Marathon will be held Sunday October 19, 2014 in Mandeville, LA. The race promises a beautiful scenic course through Fontainebleau State Park, The St. Tammany Trace, Historic Old Mandeville, and the Lake Pontchartrain Lakefront. The race is only 12 days away but you can still register. The price will increase in 5 days but you can use my discount code below for $20 off!


There will be many exciting new additions to the race this year. The Gulf Coast Half Marathon is partnering with Jones Physical Therapy to present the Back 2 Back Challenge. The Jones 5K will be held at Varsity Sports Mandeville Saturday October 18, 2014 at 8:00am. If you run this race and the Gulf Coast Half Marathon (or 10 miler) the next day you will get a special Back 2 Back medal. You will still get the coveted bottle opener medal for completing the Half Marathon as well. This bling was voted one of the top 6 race medals by Women’s Running!


A new feature will be the addition of a 10 mile option in addition to the Half Marathon.

Are you tired of paying $25 for a digital picture? Good news………FREE RACE PICTURES!!!! The Gulf Coast Half Marathon is partnering with Northshore Plastic Surgery LLC to give you FREE race pictures! Here are some examples of what the pictures will look like. You can see the pictures also feature the new Gulf Coast logo.


Next up are the new awards. Local artist Camille Quintana has created a commemorative print that will be awarded to the overall and age group winners. The print will also be featured as the background for your race number!


Whew, that is a lot of exciting news. As always the race is chip timed and awards are broken down into 5 year age groups 3 deep. The course will be cut off after 4 hours.

Last but not least is the Abita Beer Post Race Party. The party is held on the lakefront of Fontainebleau Park. It will feature lots of delicious local food in addition to Abita Beer.
