The 49th annual New Orleans Track Club Anniversary Race was held Saturday
morning August 18 in New Orleans City Park. The race was held at the
historic Peristyle for the first time. The clouds and rain gave way to the
sun and humid temperatures. A special feature of this race was not only
did they give out neon colored technical shirts with registration, they
also gave out neon colored 80s throwback sunglasses with the NOTC logo on
them. Way cool!

The course took the runners through City Park under the historic oaks,
past Storyland and the New Orleans Art Museum, and back to the Peristyle
for the finish. Nick Accardo finished the three mile race in 15:51 and
Lauren Jewett finished first for the women in 20:53.

I finished in 22:53, good for 7th place.

Post race refreshments included Coors Light beer, red beans, fruit, and
Krispy Kreme donuts. The race benefited the St. Mary's Residential
Training School for Autism.
