This past Saturday the 2013 Alligator Stomp 5K was held at the Westbank Bridge Park in Luling, LA. The race was held in conjunction with the Luling Alligator Festival. The race was hosted by the St. Charles Rotary Club and New Orleans Running Systems.

It was a beautiful blue sky morning with temps around 77. The humidity quickly took over and it felt more like 90. I got off of work at 7:00am and drove straight to the race. I was exhausted and kept trying to talk myself out of it but I knew it would be a good time and my number one fans, Mom and Dad, were coming to watch.

The race started at 9:10am on top of the Mississippi levee. The course was out and back on top of the levee with a downhill finish for the final 100 meters.
